Sunset Walk – Fish and Chips on a Trawler
Nor rain, nor wind, nor change of plans could dampen the spirits of folks gathering at the Gansbaai Harbour, on the 29th of August 2017 @ 18:30.
With jackets, rain coats, scarfs and the sad news that we will not be able to go onto the trawlers due to the bad weather, we set off to the new harbour. Some braved the icy cold conditions and other decided to take a drive there. On arrival at the finish point everyone collected their “original” fish and chips parcel completely wrapped in paper with a cup of wine. Thumbs up to The Fish Lady for the amazingly good fish and chips and Lomond Wines for spectacular tasting wine – together a taste bud tantalizing appetiser.
Laughter filled the harbour, people mingled and meals were enjoyed by 75 plus individuals. A cloud decided to bless the high spirited crowed with some rain and with a blink of an eye everyone said their goodbye’s and off they went into different directions. Some decided to savour the moment in their cars overlooking the Gansbaai Harbour. And as the old saying goes “Good things come to those who wait” – we were blessed with the most spectacular sunset!
